Even though it’s raining I figure I’d better start posting some ski content on here. It’s time to switch my mindset into full gear with or without snow on the ground. Last year’s Rate Roundup was updated on Dec 14, 2015 with no flakes in sight. There’s hope still. See below for my comprehensive list of lift rates from area ski resorts and other mid-atlantic mountains for 2017.
2017 LIFT TICKET RATES Please note there are about 5 billion pricing tiers on each website. I took the simplest measures I could, finding Adult Full-Day Prices and flex pricing that I am really going to take advantage of this year. Feel free to click to download the full .pdf for printing.

Ski on Thanksgiving, anyone? When was the last time that happened? The bit of snow that hit the area over the weekend has skiers and riders ready to go, and resorts blowing snow. Snow making has been in process at a few larger areas and it looks like the consensus is Friday as opening day. See who’s open and early ski season pricing below:

This weekend’s pricing: $58 (Adults) / $45 (Kids)
Snowshoe, WV Opening Day: Fri, Nov. 25: 9 A.M. – 4:30 P.M.
Value Season thru December 15: $59 (Adults) / $49 (Kids)
Holiday Valley, NY Opening Day: Sat, Nov. 26: 8:30 A.M. – 10 P.M.

Seven Springs’ sister resort Hidden Valley and needs another 24-hours to make the game call, and it’s doubtful their newly acquired Laurel Mountain is ready to open; it seems that the snow guns have not been operated there, yet – anyone have news?
Looks like the rest are on-hold until December, once snowmaking can kick up when the weather is right. It looks like we have some rain in the forecast and a few more flakes are set to fly December 2. You know that changes. Here’s to ski season! Pray for snow.
Why do we have to put it in a bucket? There are so many things I want to do and see in life, and opportunities to conquer those desires are few and far between. My life has consisted of a lot of “I want” instead of “I have done,” and this blog started as almost a half-push to get my ass going.
Australia, Philipenes, Galapagos, Brazil, Ireland, Greece, Italy (again), Spain (Again), too many to count. Don’t even get me started on the States. All of them, starting with Alaska. National Parks, State Parks, I want to see it all.
Skydiving – this is happening. I just so happen to know a guy…
Waterfall Hunting, everywhere. I will hit Rickets Glen, PA and Blackwater Falls, WV this summer.
Snorkeling… I would love to scuba but I am terrified of sharks. Need to do it now. Thank you media.
And of course, ski (or snowboard) unlimited powder runs all over the West, North and into Canada.
Bonnaroo. See Pearl Jam live. See a festival out of the country. A DJ Koze show. Beardyman live.
Ride a cutting horse. Compete in reined cowhorse competition. Show at Congress. Wait… own a horse.
Turn any children I have into little rippers immediately.
I can’t even fit most of my adventure dreams and travel lists into one bucket. I don’t even have one genre of bucket. Travel, adventure sports, horses, music… It’s all over the place. How can you ask me to fit THIS into a bucket? It’s a truckload.
